上学是在19世纪，碰到19××都是读nineteen-**,比如1983，nineteen-eighty-three
那么2003呢？在2010年之前是读，two thousand ten
但是2010年呢？去年英国BBC统一读法认为是twenty-ten，但老习惯还是读two thousand ten

　　吃饭时喝汤是中国人的饮食习惯，在英语里，不能说drink soup（喝汤），而习惯说“吃汤”（eat soup）。这主要有以下几个方面的原因：

　　1、因为西餐里的汤一般很稠，汤里有奶油、肉、蔬菜等很多种东西，没法喝，必须送到嘴里咀嚼。而中国的汤一般较稀，是清汤，可以直接喝。

　　2、西餐的餐具主要是盘子，汤一般盛在较深一些的盘子里，得用汤勺舀着吃，而不像中国人那样用汤碗直接喝。

　　3、在英语里，drink只用在“喝”饮品上，特指用杯子一类的东西把饮品倒进嘴里喝下去，不需要汤匙。比如：“喝水”（drink water），“喝茶”（drink tea），“喝咖啡”（drink coffee），“喝牛奶”（drink milk），“喝果汁”（drink juice），“喝酒”（drink wine）。而eat指食用很稠的、需要咀嚼的食品，西餐的汤就属于这一类。

祥瑞轮还是丢了。跟踪了3封邮件，登了三次轮，船长都没冒个泡！好歹最后还是收到礼貌的回邮，态度就是“看你运气吧~~~”，言外之意，下一任船长我不敢保证他不比较价钱，你的420刀每吨虽然我觉得还行，但抱歉，我马上要下任了。即使不下，我和目前这家合作挺好，未必也会换。

什么狗P运气，自08年开始，一派价格战，都是以前那个自以为是的经理搞起来的。上周和公司管事的聊天，透露说现在码头的油价没有低于$450的, TMD，全乱了。国际油价今天84刀一桶，折算下来588一吨。但人家是原油啊，你个远洋船用的比沥青好点的石油终端提炼物至于吗，折半加点也就300，足够那帮鬼佬们享用了。现在居然搞100方纯油下来才赚个2W，小公司想拣点小鱼小虾都没剩了，大公司不和你搞，随便怎么搞去。以前碰到个轮机长说，有人给他报400，他压根儿就不相信，觉得不可思议。实际上那是真的。

典型的公地悲剧，和当年做eBay的外贸公司一样，国人除了搞价格战就不会搞别的，现在搞得大家都利润微薄了赚钱吃力了，市场臭了，产品质量的也下降了，OK，树倒猢狲散~~~找别的树去。

现在据说全世界的轮机长们都知道中国南方的这个城市出价最高，想千方设百计把油省到这边来卖，以前还说巴西也高，现在估计巴西还是竞争不过咱们财大气粗的boss们。

这是电影【教父】的第一句台词,代言了科波拉想说的话。身为美国人，无论是第几代移民，如此表述一定是真诚的，就因为美国给予他们的美国梦。地球上有这样的国家简直是就是奇迹，这个国家历来就以创造奇迹为名。
昨天，老婆学校组织去K歌，晚上回来跟我讲，说老板在美国呆了二十多年回大陆的同乡在酒会前演讲，说美国教育注重启发学生之类的话，我们中国应该学习...云云。老婆笑他一个五十多的人还这么天真，我说，太正常不过了，大部分美国人都很天真，不然哪会创造奇迹。任何一个在那样开放先进的文化中浸淫多年的人再怎么变老想必都不会丢失掉自己的天真，否则，为什么pixar能拍出【飞屋环游记】那样优秀的动画，不都是一帮心存梦想与童真的人在搞嘛！

国内这几天百度K站很猛，对于我这样一个糊里糊涂进入站长行业且涉水未深的人，简直是后怕得很。我随便在聚锐管家中查交换过的友情链接，不得了，好多个被K了，而我在site了自己的站后，发觉自己辛免于难，简直是感激涕零。身为草根真是如履薄冰！

然后我开始考虑独立ip建站的事，至少不会受牵连而尽量规避掉自己能够了解的风险。于是我除了在Godaddy注册域名之外，我又在Name.com用不同的身份注册，接下来又在MaddogDomains.com注册，忙乎了好几天。

今早发现刚在maddog申请的域名DNS不能解析了，赶紧查后台，发现自己的账户被锁，真纳闷，难道美国佬也用这种下三滥的伎俩坑人，付了钱就收回东西。这是我在这个神奇国度呆久了之后的惯性思维，后来想想自己真阴暗。

我仔细看了弹出的页面信息，发现我被选择要做安全检测。接着我去我注册的邮箱查看邮件，发现域名商2个小时前发了邮件给我，说我的paypal付款人信息和网站的注册信息不匹配，怀疑有人盗用了别人的信用卡注册之类的......

这下我全明白了，我是用老婆的paypal付的款，自然绑定的是她的信用卡，但我在maddog注册时的邮箱和paypal的不一致。这才是根源。

于是我干脆以老婆的身份，拍照片，发邮件，提供截图，反正来来回回搞了好几封邮件，最后收到一份确认，我的账户已被解锁。

这边是早上10点，我想有着11个小时时差的美国那边不管东海岸还是西海岸，肯定都是晚上吧。我每发的一封邮件，一般都在5分钟之内得到了回复。而且言辞委婉。其实paypal里面的钱他们早返还给我了，我没去开老婆的邮箱所以还不知道。

我还能说什么呢？
于是我最后发邮件给客服，就写了“I believe in America!”，然后道谢！
谁知道，不出十分钟，又有一封邮件过来，说，考虑到我问题的复杂性和特殊性，可能以后还会有些许的疑问，而且他们已经备注我的注册信息。如果我有任何问题的话可以直接回复邮件或打电话给他们，他们一年365天，一天24个小时都有专人在线...

我TM真是受宠若惊，记得好早以前搞独立博客的时候，在国内买的cn域名除了满周年的时候接到客服要我续费的电话，平时邮箱里面连根毛都没有。

没办法，这就是美国，让我这个身在地球另一端的人都感到它的伟大！
当然，我崇洋，那是事实，因为我羡慕；但同时我并不谄媚，政治上的反美是很多人在面对美国时的尴尬！关于政治，是既恶心又复杂！

最近使用google翻译非常多，主要是用于网站更新的伪原创。
前两天发现google的翻译洁面突然改版，耳目一新。比较每天要像伺候爷爷一样的为了百度团团转，真是爱死google的用户体验了。
最关键的还有一个图片搜索功能，尤其是搜索品牌产品的logo时，google直接有一个选项给你选择，而且搜出来的结果非常精准，而百度在这个时候简直就是狗屎一坨了。
越发感觉百度来中国就是圈钱的，竞价和广告已经泛滥了！
